Railtrail leaflet (2009)

A new Railtrail leaflet, including a map and information about each section, is now available free to the public. The leaflet has been generously sponsored by the Sustainable Management Fund of the Ministry of the Environment, Living Streets Aotearoa, Cycling Advocates Network and the Selwyn District Council.

These leaflets are available from:
- Canterbury information centres (e.g. Christchurch i-site, Akaroa Visitor Centre, Lyttleton Harbour Information Centre, Little River Information Centre)
- Outlets along the Railtrail (Thyme Cafe in Prebbleton, Hillyers in Lincoln, The Store in Tai Tapu, and the Blue Duck in Motukarara).

Railtrail Interpretation Booklet (2006)

This booklet, written by Fiona Farrell, contains a wealth of information about the area that the Christchurch-Little River Railtrail travels through. There are chapters about the historical landscape, Maori settlement, European settlement, the Little River railway, the Second World War, present landscape (including the flora and fauna), the restoration of the lakes, and the Railtrail.
